Application Guidelines

Asian Forum on Global Governance (AFGG) participants will be successful young politicians, managers, journalists, academics and NGO representatives between 28 and 35 years of age, who have significant experience and show particular promise in their respective fields of endeavour. Proficiency in oral and written English is a prerequisite.

The 2-stage application process will be highly selective. At the first stage, applicants must be nominated by an eminent person (nominator) already identified by the ZEIT-Stiftung Ebelin und Gerd Bucerius and the Observer Research Foundation (nomination does not guarantee acceptance). In the second stage, from these recommendations a Selection Committee will invite approximately 40 applicants to participate at the AFGG. It is clarified that nominations do not guarantee acceptance.

Names and addresses of the ZEIT-Stiftung's or the Observer Research Foundation’s contact persons will not be communicated to potential applicants directly. Our nominators are from diverse fields; Heads and Ministers of State, Members of Parliament, CEOs of transnational companies, Professors (Law, Political Science, Humanities) and NGOs. Additionally, alumni of the ZEIT-Stiftung’s governance programs may nominate candidates.

If you have been nominated by a nominator identified by the ZEIT-Stiftung Ebelin und Gerd Bucerius and the Observer Research Foundation please complete the online application form and upload the following application documents:
